Thanks for coming back to look at today's cards. I decided to enter a blogging contest for the month of November. The only requirement was that you post every day. I did it, but I learned that that's not for me. By the end of the month I was inventing things to put on here and that's not at all what I want this for. So, I took a nice long break from stamping. After all, it's supposed to be fun and not work, right?
I've been swamped with my day job and have been trying to get a handle on Christmas stuff but today I decided I was going to sit and make my cards. That's exactly what I've been doing since noon.
This first card is a familiar layout and color combination I used for classes a couple times this fall. I changed the stamps and used In A Pear Tree, a 2004 Holiday Mini Catalog set that I collected my first year of stamping. Coloring was intimidating way back when and I never got up the courage to do anything with the stamps. I've held onto them for a few years and finally had the perfect chance to use them. I love how it turned out, complete with just a touch of glitter around the wreath.
This second card is the same layout with a totally different look. The snowman is from Jolliest time of the Year and he's sparkling in glitter, also. I had a roll of double stitched ribbon leftover from last year's In Colors and it added just that little extra touch I was looking for.
I'm not quite finished with the second set, but it's time for a break. I've had the Christmas station on the radio all day and I think I've heard Let It Snow at least a dozen times. Thank goodness it's been in the 40s here in Jersey because it's been raining cats and dogs all day and I'm sure we'd be snowed in all weekend -- and I have Christmas shopping that needs to get finished!!,
